REVIEWS FROM OUR APRIL 2008 SHOW
. . . Thank you for organizing what for me turned out to be a very good show. I hope things went okay for you and I look forward to participating in your future endeavors. Roland and Tina, Panoply Books, Hampton NJ . . . Great show! The show was really well organized and well done. I couldn't believe how easy break down was. Congratulations!!!! Nick Riccio, Nicholas D. Riccio Rare Books & Prints, Florham Park, NJ . . . I would like to congratulate you on putting on such a good show and thank you for all your support, efforts and hard work. Well done!! Inge Bolissian, Simon Finch Rare Books Ltd, London, UK . . . Congratulations on pulling off another successful event. I had a good show; better than I have had in a long time. My stock was really good, but the proximity to the other event was a brilliant position to take. Thanks for your help, and for having such great partners (D.) and staff. Kurt GippertBookseller, Chicago, IL . . . A deep bow and much applause to, Bruce and D and crew, impressive work, really. The show looked good and was well laid-out; logistics worked. And if I can say so without seeming self-flattery, the dealers you collected had some really excellent things to offer. I was impressed with the quality of the show overall. Thanks again for all your work. John Breckenridge, McLean Arts & Books, McLean, VA . . . The show worked well for me; it was a good group of exhibitors, all worthy of being there next to the ABAA. Steve Schuyler-Bookseller, North Reading , MA . . . Congratulations!!!!! Wow, what a great job you all did. The dealers who came from the Armory show were very pleased. Thank you all. Gil Rodriquez, Gilann Books, Darien, CT . . . It was a really nice fair. I have no complaints. Super having it next door to the big fair. Joe Maynard, Brooklyn, NY . . . We here at Bauman Rare Books think you guys are the best. We really appreciate the fine treatment we receive, and we are convinced that you are all geniuses for handling the logistics of these shows without letting them turn into total chaos. We had a blast and look forward to the next one. And thanks for the champagne too . . . Till next time . . . Ernie, Bauman Rare Books, New York, NY . . . This was an amazing Book Fair. You both did a fantastic job. Everything about it was perfect. Dealers came in masses and champagne flowed. The mood was so upbeat, many thanks to you. Jeff Bergman Books ABAA/ILAB, Fort Lee, NJ . . . Thank you again for all your efforts in putting this together. Having computers there was a good idea and even resulted in a sale for me, as well as driving directions to the tunnel and lunch opportunities. It was my best fair yet, an setting up and pulling out couldn't have been easier or faster. And D., thank you for being there to answer questions and give immediate solutions. It was a fun time. I'm looking forward to '09, sign me up!" Deborah, D. T. Pendleton Fine & Antiquarian Books, Oley, PA . . . Overall the show was a great success. We loved the space; load-in and load-out were both very easy. The proximity to the ABAA show was, of course, very beneficial for both exhibitors at your show as well as the ABAA show. Your staff was very accommodating and helpful, all staff of Hunter that we had contact with were supportive and friendly, great job! Timothy, E M Maurice Books, Litchfield, CT . . . You can add our names to any letter to Hunter College. We can be quoted "our best book fair ever". Your scheduling of loading & unloading went extremely well, my compliments to you. Dennis Seekins, "Quiet Friends", Used and Rare Books, Lyndonville, NY . . . We were very happy with this year's NYC fair. The change in location seemed to work well, and your organization was impeccable. Everything, from our view, went smoothly. Jack Fitterer, Jack & Taff Fitterer Hand Bookbinding, Indian Lake, NY . . . The organization for the load in was spot on, easy as pie. The gym was a very nice facility, beautifully lit and spacious. My booth was just the right size for me. I was completely happy. This show was a great success. The load out was beautifully choreographed. I was packed and on the road in one hour. Given the challenges of New York streets and traffic, this was a miracle. You may count me in for next year. I'll take the same set up. Thanks for all of your great work. It paid off in more than one way... Jerry ShowalterBookseller, Ivy, VA
. . . The show was great!!!!! Everything was perfect, from the moment of arrival to the end of the show. Congratulations for such work and perfect put-together. Ramon Lascano, Ramon Lascano Folded Books, Tivoli, NY . . . We had a good fair and were most impressed with your overall planning and general organization. The entry process was not as challenging as anticipated and the departure process efficient. We had an excellent porter, and the fellows outside were most efficient. Bill and Sarah Bastick, Asian Steppes Antiquarian Books, Pittsford, VT . . . Great job in organizing the Fair - my feedback from customers & other dealers was very positive & THANKS for all your help - I look forward to next year. Paul Goodman, RP Goodman Military Books, Montreal, Quebec, Canada . . . Thanks a million, it was a great show, the location could not be beaten!! Look forward to seeing dates for the Fall. Sue, Dolphin Books and Prints, London, UK . . . Thanks for a great book fair! Bray Books, San Diego, CA . . . I want to thank you for all your hard work and dedication to the fair. I can't imagine how much coordinating and active attention was required both leading up to and during the fair. I wish every fair could have the appearance of that fair. Aside from it being the best fair we ever had and even more importantly, we heard great feedback from customers, especially how conveniently located the venue is with respect to the armory. Everyone seemed to appreciate how tastefully done everything was: the carpet, uniform table skirts, perimeter wall display cases, cafe, internet access, etc. The show was colored nicely with non-dealer exhibitors ( Bloomsbury, Biblio, Moet), which certainly added a nice touch. You may have heard a lot of critique from dealers about the internet (i.e. customers looking up books online prior to purchasing), customers will check the internet with or without the fair. You still can't beat seeing the books at a fair, in person. I think you should keep it. Anything that could be done to make this venue a routine location would be incredible. It was an A+ fair with or without the Moet. Josh Mann, B & B Rare Books, Ltd., New York, NY
